New Installations

Elmira Consulting can give advice on new purchases and are able to supply hardware and software at competitive prices.  Advice is completely impartial and we have no affinity to a particular supplier.  Additionally we will help you set up and configure your systems for optimum performance and benefit.

Troubleshooting

Many home users experience problems with pop-ads or other unwanted software effecting performance of their systems.  This can manifest itself in unwanted (and unpleasant) pop-up ads appearing.  Additionally unwanted spyware and adware is installed covertly on your system with software downloaded from the internet.  This not only effects your system performance and user experience but also your privacy.  These programs can be identified and removed from your system.

Networking

If you have more than one computer, but, for example, one internet connection or one printer that you wish to share between the computers, a home network is a simple and cheap option.  This can either be a wired network, or, as is becoming increasingly common, a wireless network.  Whilst wireless networks are convenient they present some serious security issues that do not exist in wired networks.  If you are considering a wireless network please see the wireless networking section.
